By now you must be familiar with the concept of solar powered mobile cinema that is taking the world by storm. What you may not know is that Sol Cinema is the world’s smallest solar powered mobile theatre. Yes, you read that right. Let’s have a look.

The movie truck revolution is just beginning with people getting warmed up to the idea of clean, renewable source of energy that is used to power this initiative.

It is a small vintage caravan that has a seating capacity of just 8 people. For a small amount, you will be treated with a red carpet, the woman in charge will usher you to your seats, and you will be provided a bag of popcorn to munch on while you watch your movie. Not bad for a caravan theatre.

They have a library of short films that you can watch, or alternatively, you can also watch your own digital videos. The staffs consists of trained performers who will perform on stage for you if you are not in the mood of watching a movie. There is a small stage between the screen and the seats.

They have a 12V photovoltaic panel that is used to capture the sunlight. They use a solar generator which is used to store the electricity produced from the solar heat which is then used to power the screen and lights.

Owing to the small size of the caravan, the screening can be organised both indoors as well as outdoors. They are ideal if you are looking to organise a small screening for just friends and family members, for a class with a small batch, or for corporate meetings.

The whole thing has a vintage touch to it which only adds to the cinematic experience. Drinks and snacks are available in case you get hungry. It’s just like the old saying – great things often come in small package.
